The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed 2026 draft selection wide receiver Ted Hurst.
Hurst (6-3, 195) was selected by the Buccaneers in the third round (No. 84 overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Georgia State University (2024-25) and Valdosta State University (2022-23), appearing in 47 career games and bringing in 187 receptions for 2,992 yards (16.0 avg.) and 25 touchdowns. Hurst earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors in 2025 after leading Georgia State with 71 receptions for 1,004 yards and six touchdowns, finishing among the top 20 nationally in both receiving yards and receptions per game. In his first season at Georgia State in 2024, he recorded 56 receptions for 961 yards and a school-record nine touchdown catches, earning second-team All-Sun Belt recognition. Over his two seasons at Georgia State, Hurst totaled 127 receptions for 1,965 yards and 15 touchdowns, ranking among the program's top five all-time in career receiving yards, receptions and touchdown catches. Prior to transferring, he spent two seasons at Valdosta State, where he recorded 53 receptions for 1,027 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Savannah, Georgia, native will wear No. 17 for Tampa Bay.
