1. Anthony Nelson finished with 1.5 sacks, including a strip sack of Chiefs quarterback Justin Fields late in the first quarter. Nelson beat tackle Kahlil Benson off the edge and knocked the ball loose with his left hand. Benson recovered the ball, but was stopped short of the line to gain, resulting in fourth down.
2. Nelson added a half sack with outside linebacker Mohamed Kamara in the second quarter, sacking Fields on third down from inside the Bucs' 10-yard line and forcing the Chiefs back 20 yards into a longer field-goal attempt.
3. Cornerback Roman Parodie rejoined the Bucs two weeks ago after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio University in 2025. He is no stranger to creating turnovers for the Krewe. Last preseason, he returned an interception for a touchdown against the Titans. Today, he came up big again, picking off a bobbled pass in a pivotal fourth-quarter moment. The turnover gave Tampa Bay the ball back in excellent field position, trailing only 15-10.
4. The Bucs capitalized on Parodie's interception on their next offensive possession when Sean Tucker powered it in from the 1-yard line with 10:08 left in the game. The two-point conversion attempt failed, but the 16-15 score gave Tampa Bay its first lead of the game and it would prove to be the final margin. Tucker led the team in touchdowns last season with seven rushing and one receiving touchdown. He finished as the Bucs' leading rusher vs. the Chiefs, gaining 23 yards on five carries.
5. Jalon Daniels leaned heavily on rookie undrafted free agent and Tampa native Dean Patterson IV, connecting with him five times for 47 yards. Patterson's best catch came on a toe-tap grab in the middle of the third quarter, hauling in a first-and-10 rollout throw from Daniels and getting both feet down for a 24-yard gain. Patterson and Bucs receiver Kam Johnson tied for the game lead in receiving yards, with 56 yards apiece.
