HEAD COACH TODD BOWLES
(On if there's an update on the status of OLB Haason Reddick)
"He's going to get an MRI today, so we'll see what happens after that."
(On which body part Reddick is going to have an MRI done on)
"Both [his] knee and ankle."
(On how he would assess Tampa Bay's tackling in Monday night's game))
"It was definitely an issue on the first drive – we missed two tackles that got them down the field. We missed two more later on. Overall, we can be better at open-field tackling. It has to do with angles and fundamentals."
(On how difficult Detroit's defense makes it for a quarterback to get comfortable)
"It's tough. When you're chipping with the tight end and the [running] back and trying to just get three guys open, it's awfully tough when they were mixing the coverages like that. They were getting pressure up the middle [and] even if they weren't getting there, they were kind of disrupting where his feet were. We've got to do a better job of protecting, but we've got to do a better job of getting open, as well."
(On multiple Tampa Bay defenders slipping on the turf on Monday night)
"There weren't any conditions – we just did a lot of slipping."
(On whether RB Bucky Irving and WR Chris Godwin Jr. are in play to return for Week 8)
"They're getting better. I don't know how close they are yet. I'll see when I get out of here. They haven't been in yet, so we'll see what the update is."
(On how losing WR Mike Evans for an extended period changes the offense, and if Offensive Coordinator Josh Grizzard will have to make adjustments to the overall gameplan)
"He's definitely going to have to do that, but we've been doing it the past couple weeks since he's been out, so it's kind of the norm right now, unfortunately. When you lose somebody like that, it's always going to affect your offense and you're going to have to change and do different things."
(On what Offensive Coordinator Josh Grizzard can take away from Monday night's game)
"Patience. Every game is going to be different – just patience. If your quarterback is not on and not going, you've got to help him out with either the run game or screen passes. When you have to protect, you have to do different things and chip. If the running game isn't going from a power standpoint, we've got to try to get on the edge – just different tips. He's going to learn each week – whether he scores 40 points or 10 points – he's going to learn different things each week that he can put in his arsenal and get better at next week."
(On briefly moving T Tristan Wirfs to the right side for a few plays and if that was to try and mitigate the impact of Aidan Hutchinson)
"That was more of a design on the play we wanted to run."
(On his assessment of the interior offensive line's pass protection against Detroit)
"Like I said, they were up and down. We had some plays where we had protection and we couldn't get [anybody] open and they got through late on those things. A few times, they had some games and some pressures up the middle that went a little fast for us. For the most part they've been doing a good job, but we can be stouter."
(On Tampa Bay's struggles on third downs on Monday night)
"They picked a good time mixing coverages with us and mixing pressures on us. Looking at the tape, there weren't a lot of people open down the field on third down, and they were making him hold the ball and they kind of got to him a little bit. They had some coverage sacks and some coverage pressures in there. They did a good job – you've got to give them credit."
(On how satisfied he was on the explanations he received from officials on two key reviews)
"Once they make a review and say it out loud over the headset, you kind of go with it. I'm not used to going back and then making another call and changing it, but he explained it. It was an ugly look, but he explained it, and they went with it. It's been happening once a week in that aspect of it. They're going to be human and make mistakes."
(On the health status of QB Baker Mayfield)
"I saw him limping at the end in the last series. He has not been in yet this morning to see what exactly is wrong with him. We'll see."
(On OL Mike Jordan's performance and if he could be promoted to the active roster)
"He definitely held up [well]. He picked up where he left off before he got hurt. He does some great things in pass protection. [There are] some little things he's got to work on, but for his first game back, he held up. We'll see how many bodies we've got in the training room as far as who we're moving up on the 53[-man roster] going forward."
