Entering the 2018 season, Dean was a preseason All-SEC second-team selection. On the year, he tied for the team lead in interceptions, with two, while posting the second-most passes defensed, with nine.
As a redshirt sophomore (2017), tallied 43 tackles (2.5 for loss) and eight passes defensed, the second-most on the team, trailing only current Buccaneers teammate Carlton Davis.
Suffered an injury prior to the 2016 season, missing the year.

Received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Liberal Arts in May, 2018.
Attended Cocoa High School (Cocoa, Florida), where he was a two-time Florida first-team Class 4A all-state pick and was named the 2014 Brevard County player of the year and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association’s District 12 MVP.
