MVP
1. Every year, the Pittsburgh Steelers' players vote for the team's most valuable player at the end of the season. It took only one season for Kenneth Gainwell to earn that honor from his peers. T.J. Watt and Aaron Rodgers said he deserved the award, recognizing him for being an outstanding teammate and his feel for all aspects of the offense. The last Steelers' running back to earn the award was Le'Veon Bell in 2016.
Revitalization
2. After spending his first four seasons with the Saints, Anzalone signed with the Detroit Lions in 2021, the same year General Manager Brad Holmes and Head Coach Dan Campbell took over the franchise. The linebacker became a core piece of rebuilding the Motor City. He was a captain for five-consecutive seasons, wearing the green-dot for the defense. Anzalone helped lead the team to a NFC Championship Game in 2023 and the Lions had a record of 48-36-1 throughout his tenure.
Familiar Face
3. The Buccaneers new Special Teams Coordinator Danny Smith is getting his special teams ace. Miles Killebrew is a 10-year veteran who spent the past five seasons working alongside Smith in Pittsburgh. During that time, the safety earned two Pro Bowl selections and first-team All-Pro honors in 2023. The Nevada native also leads the league in career blocked punts with four.
Career-Year
4. Al-Quadin Muhammad joins former teammate Alex Anzalone in Tampa Bay after both suiting up for the Lions in 2025. Last season, Muhammad was a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks. His 11.0 sacks for Detroit set a new career high, besting the 6.0-mark he recorded with the Colts in 2021. The New-Jersey native has an opportunity to be a game-wrecker for the Bucs this upcoming campaign.
Inspiration
5. Kenneth Gainwell often looks to his older brother, Curtis Gainwell Jr., for inspiration. In 2013, Curtis suffered a severe stroke at just 18 years old and underwent multiple brain surgeries during his recovery. Kenneth witnessed his brother's long road back, watching him relearn how to speak and walk. Curtis' perseverance became a powerful source of motivation as Kenneth continued chasing his football career. The running back credits his brother's strength and resilience as the reason he developed the toughness and determination that define him on the field today.
