The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed kicker Jake Verity to a future contract.
Verity (6-2, 197) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Baltimore Ravens on May 18, 2021. He spent the 2021 season on the Ravens' practice squad before splitting the 2022 offseason and training camp between the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. Verity played collegiately at East Carolina University (2016-20), amassing 352 kicking points by converting 74-of-98 field goal attempts and adding 130 PATs. He earned first-team All-AAC (American Athletic Conference) honors in 2018 and second-team All-AAC honors in 2019 when he finished as a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award. He completed his collegiate career as the all-time leading scorer in East Carolina program history. Verity hails from Bremen, Georgia, and owns the third-longest field goal in Georgia High School Association history at 63 yards.
This brings Tampa Bay's total number of future contracts to 17 players.
