The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that the team was awarded cornerback Kevin Knowles off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs. Additionally, Tampa Bay has signed tight end CJ Dippre, cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting and safety Silas Walters to the team's practice squad.
The team has also waived linebacker Caden Fordham, and released practice squad tight end Devin Culp and practice squad safety Rashad Wisdom. Tampa Bay's practice squad is now at capacity.
Dippre (6-5, 256) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the New England Patriots on May 9, 2025. He spent his rookie season between New England's practice squad and active roster, appearing in two games and primarily playing special teams. Dippre played collegiately at the University of Alabama (2023-24) and the University of Maryland (2021-22), appearing in 52 career games and totaling 65 receptions for 782 yards and three touchdowns. In his two seasons at Alabama, he caught 32 passes for 443 yards and was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List in 2024. Dippre recorded his most productive collegiate season at Maryland in 2022, finishing with 30 receptions for 314 yards and three touchdowns. The Scranton, Pennsylvania, native will wear No. 82 for Tampa Bay.
Knowles (5-11, 190) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs on May 5, 2025. He appeared in 13 games as a rookie, recording 15 tackles (10 on special teams), two passes defensed and one fumble recovery. Knowles played collegiately at Florida State University (2021-24), appearing in 50 career games and logging 113 tackles, 15 passes defensed, one interception and 1.0 sack.
Murphy-Bunting (6-0, 195) returns to the Buccaneers after spending the past three seasons between the Tennessee Titans (2023) and Arizona Cardinals (2024-25). He originally entered the league as a second-round selection (No. 39 overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2019 NFL Draft and spent his first four seasons with the Buccaneers, appearing in 53 games with 36 starts and totaling 178 tackles, 21 passes defensed, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and 1.0 sack. Murphy-Bunting was a starter on Tampa Bay's Super Bowl LV championship team, and he intercepted a pass in each of the Buccaneers' first three games of the 2020 postseason. In his career, he has appeared in 82 regular season games with 65 starts, recording 287 tackles, 34 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, eight forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 1.0 sack. He played collegiately at Central Michigan University, where he appeared in 38 career games and earned first-team All-Mid-American Conference recognition in 2018. The Macomb, Michigan, native will wear No. 26 for Tampa Bay.
Walters (5-11, 205) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Baltimore Ravens on May 1, 2026 and spent the 2026 preseason with the team. He played collegiately at Miami University (Ohio) from 2023-25, appearing in 40 career games and totaling 200 tackles, 24 passes defensed, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 2.0 sacks. Walters earned second-team All-Mid-American Conference recognition in 2025 after starting all 12 games and recording 71 tackles, 10 passes defensed, three interceptions and 1.0 sack. The West Chester, Ohio, native will wear No. 33 for Tampa Bay.
