The Buccaneers announced on Wednesday that they have waived CB Crezdon Butler and signed DE Lawrence Sidbury and CB Varmah Sonie.

Butler had been signed on September 10 and played in 11 games. A five-year pro out of Clemson, he recorded 14 tackles as a Buccaneer.

Sidbury was added to the team's active roster to bolster the defensive line. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Falcons in 2009 and played his first four seasons in Atlanta.

He was signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Colts in 2013 and was placed in injured reserve before the start of the season. After Sidbury's contract expired with the Colts in the spring of 2014, he was signed by the Texans but released less than a month after.

Sidbury has 17 tackles and five sacks in 42 career games.

After promoting WR , TE Evan Rodriguez and DT George Uko from their practice squad on Tuesday, the Buccaneers signed Sonie from the Arena Football League to fill one of two available practice squad positions.

Sonie earned first-team All-Arena honors as a rookie in 2014 with the Portland Thunder. He recorded nine interceptions and a franchise-record 86 tackles in 17 games. The Buccaneers are Sonie's first NFL team.

The team's final practice squad position had yet to be filled.
