5 Buccaneers Standing Out Thus Far

Five players who have performed well in the Bucs' first five games.

1. QB Jameis Winston
In five weeks, Winston has been nominated for the NFL's Rookie of the Week award twice. He was named the winner after leading the Bucs past the Saints in Week 2 and was nominated for the award again this past week after the Buccaneers topped the Jaguars. He's thrown for 1,174 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions so far. He's also picked up 62 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

2. RB Doug Martin
Martin heads into the bye having rushed for 100 yards in back-to-back games and is on pace for more than 1,000 yards this season. He has 405 rushing yards, tied for the second-most in the league, and is rated as the NFL's best running back by Pro Football Focus. Martin is averaging 4.5 yards per carry and 81 yards per game so far this season.

3. WR Vincent Jackson
Through five games, Jackson is the Bucs' leader in receptions with 20 and receiving yards with 306. Jackson is also tied for the team-lead in touchdowns with two. He's been targeted 38 times and averages more than 15 yards per reception.

4. RB Charles Sims
Sims' versatility has made him an important part of the Bucs' offense. He's hauled in 14 passes, second to only Jackson, and has a 56-yarder, the team's longest reception of the year. He has also carried the ball 37 times, a little less than half the number Martin has, for 135 yards. His 441 yards from scrimmage are the most of any Buccaneer so far.

5. S Chris Conte
Conte had started four of the Buccaneers' five games and leads the team in solo tackles with 24. He's three tackles ahead of Lavonte David and six ahead of Kwon Alexander. Conte was also one of three Buccaneers to record an interception this season, picking off Drew Brees in Week 2.
