The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the promotions of Byron Kiefer from National Scout to Senior National Scout, Antwon Murray from NFS/Combine Scout to area scout and Brian McLaughlin from Scouting Assistant to NFS/Combine Scout. The team also hired Sean Conley, Will Edmunds and Zach Smith as Scouting Assistants.

Kiefer enters his 14th season overall with the Buccaneers, having worked as a national scout for the past three seasons, following a nine-year stint as an area scout. Prior to his time as an area scout, he worked as an NFS/Combine scout and spent a season as a pro personnel assistant. Kiefer joined Tampa Bay after spending the 2003 season assisting with football operations at the University of South Florida. A St. Petersburg native, Kiefer graduated from Mercer University in 2003, where he was a letterman pitcher on the baseball team.

Murray spent the last two seasons as the Buccaneers' NFS/Combine scout. In his new role, he will be responsible for scouting the Midwest. Prior to his time with the Buccaneers, Murray worked at his alma mater, Boise State, where he was the director of recruiting for two seasons. A Lakeland, Florida native, Murray played defensive back for the Broncos from 2007-11 and, once his playing career ended, he worked as director of player personnel at Arkansas State for one season, before returning to Boise.

McLaughlin enters his fifth season with the Buccaneers. He spent two years as a team operations assistant (2014-15), before becoming a scouting assistant, a position he held for the past two seasons. McLaughlin, a Norwalk, Ohio native, originally joined the Buccaneers as the team operations assistant for the 2012 season, following internships with the Indianapolis Colts (2011) and Cleveland Browns (2010). He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in sports administration in 2012.

Conley comes to Tampa Bay from Northwestern, where he worked as a recruiting assistant (2014-18) and a quality control assistant (2016-18). Conley played fullback at Illinois Wesleyan from 2010-13, graduating with a degree in sociology.

Edmunds, a Deerfield Beach, Florida native, spent this past spring as the team operations intern. A Florida State University product, Edmunds also worked as a team operations training camp intern in both 2016 and 2017.

Smith joins the Buccaneers after working for his alma mater – the University of Arizona. Smith spent 2015-17 as a recruiting intern, before leaving to join the Los Angeles Chargers as a scouting/player personnel intern. He returned to Arizona to work as the head football recruiting/player personnel intern from 2017-18. Smith also spent time as an equipment intern with the Chargers and an athletic department intern with the University of San Diego.
