The Tampa Bay Buccaneers conducted a virtual interview with Anthony Levine Sr. on Thursday morning in regards to their open special teams coordinator position. Levine most recently served as the Baltimore Ravens assistant special teams coach on John Harbaugh's staff in 2025. The Ravens parted ways with Harbaugh on January 6.
Baltimore's special teams units were excellent in 2025, as usual, particularly in terms of punting and the return game. The Ravens ranked first in the NFL in net punting average (44.9 yards), third in gross punting average (50.1 yards), 5th in punt return average against (6.9), eighth in punt return average (12.4) and ninth in kickoff return average against (25.2).
Levine played 10 seasons in the NFL as a safety and special teams ace, all of it with the Baltimore Ravens from 2012-21. He originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Packers in 2010, spending two seasons on Green Bay's practice squad before signing with the Ravens. He played in 146 games and finished as the Ravens' all-time leader in kick-coverage tackles.
After retiring at the end of the 2021 season, Levine moved immediately into Baltimore's football staff as a player personnel and coaching assistant in 2022. He was hired by the Titans in 2023 as an assistant special teams coach, a job he held for two years before returning to Baltimore last season.
Levine is the third candidate to interview for the Buccaneers' special teams coordinator spot, which became open when the team parted ways with Thomas McGaughey and four other assistants on January 8. The Buccaneers have also met with Detroit Lions Assistant Special Teams Coach Jett Modkins and Miami Dolphins Special Teams Coordinator Craig Aukerman.
