Defensive end O'Brien Schofield decided to follow his former defensive coordinator in Seattle, Dan Quinn, to the Falcons after Quinn took the team's head coaching job. Schofield played as a stand-up defensive end and linebacker for Seattle in 2014 and is considered to be the Falcons' biggest free agent addition. "The Falcons sorely need that type of speed-rusher, which is an element they haven't had the past two seasons," ESPN's Vaughn McClure wrote. The team picked up more help on the defensive side of the ball with the signing of linebacker Justin Durant.
