Phase II of the Buccaneers’ 2025 offseason workout program began on Monday, including on-field work and instruction leading up to mandatory minicamp from June 10-12

On Monday, Phase II of the Buccaneers' offseason workout program commenced. Players underwent individual drills and offense or defense only "perfect play" drills. During this timeframe from May 5-May 22, no team or one-on-one drills are permitted. In addition, no offensive line versus defensive line pass rush drills or wide receiver versus defensive back bump-and-run drills are allowed. This portion of offseason workouts is voluntary, though the Bucs had a high attendance rate on Monday including Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving, Tristan Wirfs, Yaya Diaby, Cade Otton, Jalen McMillan, Rachaad White and Calijah Kancey.

Each NFL club's voluntary offseason program can last a maximum of nine weeks and is broken up into three phases, with the volume, extent of work allowed and the involvement of coaches gradually ramping up from one phase to the next. The first weeks of the program are included in Phase One, in which activities are limited to meetings, strength and conditioning and rehab work only. Phase Two is three weeks long and includes more on-field work and instruction but no live contact drills or units going against each other are permitted during the three-week stretch.

Phase Three is the section of the program that most resembles in-season workouts, with teams allowed to hold up to 10 "organized team activity days," or OTAs. While there is still no live contact allowed during OTAs, teams can conduct offense-vs.-defense drills, including 11-on-11, 9-on-7 and 7-on-7. This phase also concludes with a three-day minicamp, which is the only part of the program that is mandatory for veteran players.

While the Buccaneers have typically split their allotted 10 OTA practices across three weeks, this year they will conduct eight such workouts over a two-week span. The first set runs from Tuesday-Friday, May 27-30, and the second set runs from Monday-Thursday, June 2-5. The final minicamp will cover the middle of the second week of June.
