The Buccaneers made a big splash on the first day of free agency last week, promptly signing two key players – wide receiver DeSean Jackson and defensive lineman Chris Baker. Both players were starters for the Redskins a year ago and are expected to make an immediate impact with the Buccaneers in 2017.
Shortly after the signings, Pro Football Focus broke down their top deals of free agency thus far. The Bucs' signing of Baker was No. 1, followed by the Rams' signing of offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth and the Eagles' signing of wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. The Bucs' signing of Jackson also made the list, coming in at No. 7.
PFF based their picks on potential contributions of each player weighed against the reported salary they expect to make this upcoming season.
Baker played the majority of his snaps as a defensive end in the Redskins' 3-4 defense, but is expected to played on the inside alongside Gerald McCoy in Tampa Bay.
