Browns' Mingo out of hospital after bruising lung

Browns-Mingo Injury

CLEVELAND (AP) - Browns rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo has been released from the hospital after bruising his lung in an exhibition game.

Mingo spent two nights in The Cleveland Clinic with the unusual injury. He was hurt on a hit in the first half of Thursday night's game against Detroit. Mingo played on special teams during the game.

The Browns say he likely will be kept out of practice for the next week.

Mingo was the No. 6 overall pick in April's NFL draft. He has been playing with Cleveland's second-team defense, but the Browns are excited about the speed he brings from the outside and intend to use him as a pass-rushing specialist.
