BUCCANEERS PLACE TE O.J. HOWARD ON INJURED RESERVE; SIGN DB JOSH SHAW

Team Signed DE Demone Harris To Practice Squad

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has placed TE O.J. Howard on Injured Reserve and signed DB Josh Shaw.

Howard has 34 catches for 565 yards (16.6 avg.) this season. His 565 receiving yards rank fifth among tight ends, while his five touchdown receptions are tied for the third-most. His 16.6 yards per reception is the 10th-highest mark in the NFL and the highest among tight ends.

Shaw (6-1, 200) originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick (120th overall) of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with Cincinnati (2015-17) and was with the Bengals this past offseason and preseason before being waived. Shaw also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year.

In his career, Shaw has played in 51 games, with 14 starts, totaling 99 tackles (one for loss), seven passes defensed and one interception, to go with 20 special teams tackles. A native of Palmdale, California, Shaw played collegiately at USC.

The team also announced that DE Demone Harris has been signed to the practice squad.

Harris (6-4, 272) has spent time on Tampa Bay's practice squad and active roster this season, appearing in two games. He originally entered the NFL as a college free agent this past offseason with the Buccaneers and spent the offseason and preseason with Tampa Bay. A native of Buffalo, New York, Harris played collegiately at Buffalo. He will wear No. 71 for Tampa Bay.
