Buccaneers sign veteran kicker Rian Lindell

Buccaneers-Lindell

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed veteran kicker Rian Lindell and waived linebacker Joe Holland.

Lindell spent the past 10 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where he ranked second in franchise history with 225 field goals made and 980 points scored.

The Bucs signed the veteran of 13 seasons because pre-training camp acquisition Lawrence Tynes has a toe injury that has prevented him from kicking this preseason.

With Tynes out, Derek Dimke has handled the kicking duties in practice and is five for five on field goal attempts through two exhibition games.

Lindell has also played for the Seattle Seahawks. He's made 81 percent of his field goal attempts and 401 of 402 extra points during his NFL career.
