McAdoo takes QBs role as Packers shuffle coaches

Packers-Coaches

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Green Bay Packers have moved Ben McAdoo to quarterbacks coach, Jerry Fontenot to tight ends coach and added Alex Van Pelt as their running backs coach.

McAdoo has been the Packers' tight ends coach since 2006. He takes the place of Tom Clements, who was promoted to offensive coordinator after Joe Philbin left to become head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

Fontenot will be entering his seventh season on Green Bay's coaching staff. He was the team's running backs coach last season.

Van Pelt was the quarterbacks coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the past two seasons. He played nine seasons at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.

The team also named John Rushing an offensive assistant/special teams and Joel Hilgenberg assistant offensive line coach.
