On Sunday, October 21, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and the Tampa Bay community will once again team up to support the fight against breast cancer with the Sixth Annual Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run, powered by Jabil. The event includes the fan-favorite 5K as well as the family-friendly Fun Run, with a portion of each registration supporting breast cancer research and patient services benefitting the American Cancer Society, the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, the Florida Hospital Foundation and the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.
New this year, both the 5K and Fun Run courses will finish in the all-new Buccaneers Indoor Practice Facility at AdventHealth Training Center, providing a one-of-a-kind setting for participants to cross the finish line and celebrate their efforts.
To start the morning, Owner / President of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation and Glazer Family Foundation Darcie Glazer Kassewitz will welcome the thousands of participants expected for the event, which will help kick off the Buccaneers' involvement in the NFL-wide Crucial Catch 2018 cancer awareness campaign. Following the race, fans and attendees will head inside Raymond James Stadium as the Buccaneers host the Cleveland Browns and honor cancer survivors throughout gameday.
Online registration for the Treasure Chests 5K + Fun Run, powered by Jabil is still open at Buccaneers.com/Race. Registration, which closes on Friday, October 19, includes a game ticket to the Buccaneers' Crucial Catch game on October 21, a Treasure Chests 5K t-shirt, a chipped race bib and a donation to breast cancer research and patient services. The first and second place winners in pre-selected categories will receive medals, and all participants will receive finisher beads and a post-race celebration at AdventHealth Training Center. Coca-Cola is a supporting sponsor for the Treasure Chests event.
The first 500 people who registered for the race will get even closer to the action, as they will have the opportunity to be part of an on-field halftime experience during the game. Since 2013, the Buccaneers' Treasure Chests 5K has contributed more than $190,000 to breast cancer research and patient services. For more information, visit Buccaneers.com/Race.
