FB Mike Alstott has made two consecutive Pro Bowl appearances

The National Football League will announce the 2000 Pro Bowl roster on Wednesday, December 22. Though the official unveiling of the roster will be made on a Wednesday evening ESPN special, each team will be notified in the afternoon of the players on its squad that made the prestigious all-star game.

The Buccaneers sent five players to last year's Pro Bowl after earning a franchise-record eight all-star berths following the 1997 season. Those 13 combined selections were one more than Tampa Bay players earned in a 15-season span from 1982 to 1996.

LB Hardy Nickerson could make his fourth consecutive trip to Honolulu while FB Mike Alstott, LB Derrick Brooks, DT Warren Sapp and C Tony Mayberry all have a chance to make a third straight appearance. The Buccaneers, of course, have hopes for these players and many more on a roster that has compiled a 9-5 record, second-best in the NFC.
