CB Ronde Barber will chat with Buc fans tonight on the Pewter Power Hour
Just over a week has passed since the tragic terrorist attacks on America, and many aspects of our lives are slowly returning to normal.
That includes the NFL, the nation's most popular sports league and a passionate subject for many. A respectful and grieving NFL took a week off from its schedule but will make an emotional return on Sunday.
And so, 1,500 professional football players are back at work this week, including 53 Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are using a bye week to hone their skills. And millions of NFL fans are eagerly awaiting this weekend's games, even now mixing in football discussions with the ongoing debates regarding Tuesday's events.
Tonight, you can bring those discussion right to One Buccaneer Place, and Tampa Bay cornerback Ronde Barber will join in. Between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. this evening, September 18, Barber will be talking directly to Buccaneer fans on a uniquely interactive program on the team's official web site.
It's called the Pewter Power Hour, and it will be broadcast tonight right here on Buccaneers.com.
As usual, the show will feature a prominent player, coach or administrator from the Buccaneers; tonight we will be joined by the multi-talented cornerback who last year managed to compile the amazing stat line of 97 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, 20 passes defensed and two defensive touchdowns.
Every Tuesday night, Buccaneers.com, plays host to the Pewter Power Hour, a live call-in show that offers fans an opportunity to share their thoughts on the hottest Buccaneer topics and to speak live with the men who make it happen on the field. Got an opinion, suggestion or question to share with Ronde Barber? Tonight's your chance.
How do you join in this open discourse with Buccaneer players and coaches? First, write down this number.
Pewter Power Hour Toll-Free Line: 1-866-783-2680
Now, here's how it works. At 7:00 p.m., Buccaneers.com will open up a live audio stream, which any user with Windows Media Player may access. A link that appears on the web site shortly before the beginning of the show will open up the Windows Media Player console, with only the audio feature activated. Any interested caller may then join in the show by using the above toll-free number.
The host will describe the show's format, introduce the night's guest and begin taking phone calls. The rest is up to you. All of your Buccaneer wisdom will be shared with Tampa Bay fans spread across the country. After the show is carried live, a recorded version of the broadcast will be added to the site shortly thereafter.
Of course, there are other ways to participate. You can simply listen Tuesday evening to the thoughts of your fellow Tampa Bay fans. Or, if you would rather not call or won't be available during the show, you can send us your thoughts via e-mail and we may read them on the show.
