TB-ATL Inactives: Defensive End Switch

Tampa Bay will be without starting DE Robert Ayers on Sunday in Atlanta but gets help at the position with the return of Will Gholston from a neck injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons named their game-day inactives on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week 12 contest at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.

The most significant development in the active list for the Buccaneers is at defensive end, where Will Gholston is active for the first time since sustaining a neck injury in New Orleans in Week Nine. His return comes at a fortunate time, as defensive end Robert Ayers will miss Sunday's game due to the concussion he incurred last weekend. Reserve offensive lineman Evan Smith is also out with a concussion, which means veteran Joe Hawley, a former starter in Atlanta, will be active for the first time this season.

As expected QB Jameis Winston is also out for a third consecutive week due to his shoulder injury. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start in his place once again.

Atlanta will be without running back Devonta Freeman for a second straight week due to a concussion.
