BUCCANEERS SIGN THREE FREE AGENTS

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed running back C.J. Prosise, defensive tackle Sam Renner and center Donell Stanley.

Prosise (6-1, 225) spent three weeks as a member of the Buccaneers practice squad during the 2020-21 NFL Playoffs from Jan. 5 to Jan. 29. He played in 10 games with the Houston Texans in 2020, after spending the previous four years with the Seattle Seahawks (2016-19). Over 35 career games, Prosise has rushed 75 times for 283 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 41 receptions for 411 yards (10.0 avg.) and one touchdown. He entered the league as a third-round selection by the Seahawks in the 2016 NFL Draft. A native of Petersburg, Virginia, Prosise played collegiately at Notre Dame.

Renner (6-4, 275) originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2020 offseason. In 37 career games at Minnesota (2015-19), Renner recorded 56 tackles, including nine for loss, and 5.0 sacks. The Maple Grove, Minnesota, native was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in his senior season.

Stanley (6-4, 324) entered the league as a college free agent with the Miami Dolphins in the 2020 offseason. Prior to his time in the NFL, Stanley was a six-year member of the South Carolina football program (2014-19). He appeared in 50 games for the Gamecocks, making 38 starts, and earning captain honors as a senior in 2019.
