On Thursday, tight end Cade Otton officially re-signed with the Buccaneers and running back Kenneth Gainwell and linebacker Alex Anzalone inked their two-year deals with Tampa Bay.
RB Kenneth Gainwell
Gainwell spent 2021-24 with the Philadelphia Eagles and during that four-year stretch, he played in 66 regular-season games and recorded 280 carries for 1,185 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns, while also catching 102 passes for 721 yards and one receiving touchdown. During the 2022 playoffs, Gainwell led the Eagles in both rushing yards (181) and scrimmage yards (236), which culminated in a Super Bowl LVII appearance. In that game, he averaged 5.5 yards per carry on 33 attempts, including a touchdown. During the 2025 season, Gainwell recorded 537 rushing yards on 114 carries and five touchdowns for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has a propensity for altering his rush track with ease and possesses solid change of direction when moving laterally and has a good feel as an inside and outside runner. Gainwell will bring reinforcements to the Bucs' running back room, complementing Bucky Irving.
TE Cade Otton
Otton, originally selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, has started 42-of-47 career games for the Buccaneers, hauling in 148 receptions for 1,446 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. Otton started all four of his postseason contests for Tampa Bay, totaling 19 receptions for 244 yards and one touchdown. He owns the franchise record for the most postseason receiving yards by a tight end. Among tight ends in Bucs franchise history, Otton ranks sixth in receptions, eighth in yards and he is tied for ninth in touchdown receptions.
In 2024, Otton established career highs in receptions (59) and receiving yards (600). His 59 receptions that season were the fifth-most by a tight end in franchise history, and his 600 receiving yards were the 11th-most. He has the athleticism to uncover at all three levels and runs a full route tree. Otton is a threat underneath and is able to alter his speed to keep defenders guessing. He has been a safety blanket for Baker Mayfield and a go-to for No.6 on third down.
LB Alex Anzalone
Over the previous five seasons, Anzalone started 73 games for the Detroit Lions, posting 490 tackles, 9.0 sacks, 33 passes defensed and three interceptions. He has the fourth-most pass deflections (19) among linebackers since 2021. Anzalone became the fourth player in Lions' franchise history to record multiple seasons with at least 125 tackles, accomplishing the feat in 2022 and 2023. Anzalone posted a career-high 125 total tackles in 2022, his first 100-tackle season. Additionally, Anzalone was one-of-two NFL players with at least 125 tackles, 1.0 sack, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 2022, becoming the first Lion to post that statline in a season since Chris Spielman. He ranked fifth among all NFL linebackers with 21 total pressures generated in 2022, per PFF. Anzalone proficiently sifts through traffic and meets running backs to deliver devastating blows. He has elite closing burst and the ability to squeeze routes underneath from zone to bolster Todd Bowles' defense.
S Miles Killebrew
Killebrew has appeared in 151 career games over 10 seasons with the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers, serving primarily as a special teams specialist, posting 91 total special teams tackles. Since entering the league in 2016, his 91 special teams tackles are the second-most in the NFL over that span. During his tenure with the Steelers, Killebrew earned consecutive Pro Bowl trips as a special teamer from 2023-24 and leads all active players in career blocked punts (four).
OLB Al-Quadin Muhammad
In 2025, Muhammad set career-highs in sacks (11.0), tackles for loss (nine) and quarterback hits (20). Last season, Muhammed recorded three multi-sack games, including Week Three against Baltimore, Week 14 against Dallas and Week 17 vs. Minnesota. He was originally a sixth-round selection by the New Orleans Saints in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent the majority of his career with the Indianapolis Colts. During his time with the Lions, Muhammad enhanced his repertoire as a sack artist and he brings his competitive disposition to Tampa Bay.
