The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out of their preseason opener with thinned ranks at the cornerback and running back positions, and addressed those spots on Tuesday by signing rookie cornerback JayVian Farr and second-year running back Jase McClellan.
To make room on the 91-man training camp roster, the Buccaneers waived undrafted rookie kicker Ryan Coe and first-year quarterback Michael Pratt. Pratt was waived with an injury designation.
Farr played his college ball at Augustana University. Over 46 games from 2021-24 he contributed 99 tackles, 1.0 sack, 5.0 tackles for loss, 21 passes defensed, three interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. While helping Augustana to three NSIC title, Farr won first-team all-conference honors last season.
McClellan, a University of Alabama product, was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round last year. He played in two games for the Falcons in 2024, logging 13 carries for 32 yards. At Alabama, he recorded 1,981 yards and 18 touchdowns on 355 carries while also catching 40 passes for 309 yards and four more scores. The Falcons waived McClellan just before the start of training camp this summer.
