The Buccaneers defeated the 49ers 30-19 in Week Six. Baker Mayfield completed 17-of-23 attempts for 256 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions for a 139.0 passer rating. The Bucs' defense recorded six sacks and two interceptions on the day at Raymond James Stadium.

The Buccaneers first offensive drive ended in a punt after a false start penalty backed the Bucs up to third-and-17. Tampa Bay then capitalized off a Kindle Vildor interception. Vildor picked off Mac Jones and returned it to the San Francisco 12-yard line for 13 yards. In two plays, the Bucs were in the end zone off a two-yard Rachaad White rush up the middle, providing the home team with a 7-0 lead.

The 49ers ensuing drive ended on a third-down sack by Elijah Roberts on Mac Jones for a loss of 10 which forced an Eddy Piñeiro 52-yard field goal. The Bucs offense then stalled after Mykel Wiliams took down Mayfield on third down, forcing a punt. The defense got a stop on the 49ers next drive with a third-down sack by Yaya Diaby on Jones.

Early in the second frame, the 49ers cashed in off a 56-yard gain by Kendrick Bourne over the middle of the field to the Tampa Bay 33-yard line. Christian McCaffrey plunged in the end zone on a one-yard rush, punctuating a 10-play, 84-yard scoring drive. The Bucs answered with a score of their own. Gains of 17 yards by Emeka Egbuka and 23 by Cade Otton spurred the Bucs drive. Sean Tucker took the handoff and bounced outside around the left end for a nine-yard touchdown, giving Tampa Bay a 14-10 lead.

Pineiro kicked a 54-yard field goal on the Niners next drive and before the half, Kameron Johnson posted his first career touchdown. He went in motion pre-snap and ran around the right end and Mayfield found him wide open verses San Francisco's off coverage. The Bucs took a 20-13 lead after the two-point attempt failed. Pineiro kicked a 42-yard field goal right before the half to make it a 20-16 game.

Coming out of the half, the 49ers drove down the field but a key pass breakup on third down by Jacob Parrish on Bourne forced the 29-yard field goal by Pineiro to make it 20-19. On the Bucs next drive, Mayfield took off for a sensational 15-yard scramble, willing himself to the first-down marker, juking defenders with physicality. Two plays later, Mayfield heaved a bomb to Tez Johnson, who made a highlight-reel catch downfield to give the Bucs a 27-19 lead. On the Niners following drive, Lavonte David sacked Jones for a loss of 10 and the fumble was reversed after being reviewed.

On the 49ers next drive, Jamel Dean intercepted Mac Jones' fourth-down pass at the Tampa Bay 14-yard line and he returned it six yards. An unnecessary roughness penalty on the offense tacked on additional yardage. On the Bucs following drive, gains of 13 and 17 yards for Kam Johnson helped set up the 45-yard field goal by Chase McLaughlin.
