Bud Hodgens has been the head football coach at Robinson High School since 1990

Robinson High School Head Coach Bud Hodgens was honored as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers High School Football Coach of the Week on Wednesday, November 7 at One Buccaneer Place.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Tony Dungy congratulated Coach Hodgens during an award presentation Wednesday afternoon before practice at One Buccaneer Place. Hodgens was presented with a framed "Coach of the Week" award signed by NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, Buccaneers General Manager Rich McKay and Coach Dungy, a football autographed by Buccaneers Head Coach Tony Dungy, a $500 donation to his football program, and Buccaneers T-shirts for his staff and players.

Coach Hodgens has been involved with Tampa high school football since 1965, when he was an assistant at King High School. After leaving King, Hodgens was an assistant at Robinson from '71-'77, before heading to Clearwater Central Catholic from '78-'79.

From 1980-81, Hodgens served as the Head Coach at Berkeley Prep before heading back to be an assistant at Robinson for the '82 season and then to Hillsborough from '83-89. Coach Hodgens' last move was to Robinson, where he has been the head coach since 1990.

Hodgens was selected by a panelist of News Channel 8 and Buccaneers representatives after being nominated on the WFLA.com website.
