5 Things to Know About the Bucs' 2025 Schedule

The Buccaneers’ 2025 schedule has been unveiled and here are five things for enthusiasts to know

5 Things to Know Image

1. The Buccaneers were allotted four prime-time matchups in 2025. After winning the NFC South for four consecutive seasons, the Bucs will be thrust into the spotlight for four marquee matchups including a Monday Night Football contest with the Texans in Week Two, a Monday Night Football battle with the Lions in Week Seven, a Sunday Night Football clash with the Rams in Week 12 and a Thursday Night Football showdown with the Falcons in Week 15.

2. The Bucs' 2025 bye week is placed at an optimal slot. Typically, the best spot for the rest-and-refresh period is the midway point of the year and Tampa Bay's falls in Week Nine. The Bucs will have eight matchups prior to the bye and nine after. In Week Eight, the Bucs will play the Saints in New Orleans for a physical matchup at Caesars Superdome. After the bye, Tampa Bay will host the Patriots at Raymond James Stadium for a 1:00 meeting. Last year, the bye was placed at a key spot, with many players returning from injury. Hopefully the placement this season will be just as beneficial.

3. The three games on Tampa Bay's schedule that were determined by matching division standings became a home game against the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles (NFC East-winners) and road trips to play the NFC North-winning Detroit Lions and the AFC South-winning Houston Texans. The 2025 schedule includes the usual intradivision games in the NFC South (six), along with matchups against the four teams in the NFC West and the four teams in the AFC East.

4. Tampa Bay will open the 2025 slate with a road game in Atlanta for a divisional matchup with the Falcons at 1:00 p.m. ET. The Bucs will enter hostile territory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Week One with a critical NFC South battle. The Bucs will have their first home game at Raymond James Stadium in Week Three, as the New York Jets roll into town for a 1:00 p.m. contest.

5. In a rare occurrence late in the year, the Bucs were awarded three straight home games from mid-November to mid-December. The Buccaneers will take on the Cardinals in Week 13 and will have another home game in Week 14 against the visiting Saints, and again in Week 15 for another divisional clash, this one against the Falcons via Thursday Night Football on December 11. The wear and tear of a 17-game season usually hits around this timeframe so Tampa Bay having three consecutive home games to round out the year will likely produce a favorable outcome.
