Head Coach Bruce Arians

(Opening statement)

"Watching the film, there's really not much different than what I thought yesterday. Third down was huge. Our inability offensively to maintain possession and get the running game going – we had some really good runs going but we didn't get a rhythm going. That one 18-play drive was one of the best we've had. Defensively, it really came down to two huge third-downs – third-and-10, coming off the goal line down there, we give up a deep corner route to Michael Thomas when we're breaking on someone in front of us, when we should be sinking – two rookies, who both played really well other than that play. Then, we get a third-and-four, we've got them stopped and we get a penalty on grabbing a guy coming out of there, and they go down and score [and] make it a two-score game. Both of those were when it was a one-score game and were huge third-down plays. When you're playing that type of game on the road, you've got to make those plays and we didn't get it done."

(On if he thinks the defense is allowing too many plays)

"Yeah, and it's mostly just third down. Finding ways to get off the field, whether it's man or zone – you've got to get off the field and give the ball back to your offense. If we get that stop down there, we're going to get it up around the 50 [yard line]. You're only 60 yards out in a one-score game. So, yeah, that was a problem last week and this week."

(On how much CB Carlton Davis III affected the game plan)

"It affected it a bunch because he was going to match up with Michael Thomas a lot and that was no longer the case. Sean [Murphy-Bunting] came in and played really, really well, but Carlton is a big, physical guy with length and is a good matchup for him, so that hurt a bunch."

(On what he thought of the officiating)

(On why the offense struggled to convert on third downs)

"Some of it's crowd noise, being able to get off the ball and just total execution. We hurried up and tried to get one and they just beat us to the punch."

(On if CB Vernon Hargreaves III is playing to the level that he expects)

"I'd like to have better. I think he's capable of better. He's got great hands, he's got great anticipation, he's a very smart player, so yeah, I would expect a little bit more."

(On if the pass interference rulings have gotten to the point where officials and head coaches do not have a clear understanding of what is pass interference and what is not)

"I think that's very accurate. I do have a professional that I'm listening to who knows that rule book inside and out [and] who did it. I don't challenge unless I agree with him and he agrees with me. Both [challenges], we thought we had hands-down winners, or we don't challenge them. It went the other way, so I would just like to see a little more continuity in everything."

(On if he felt he should have been given a challenge back after a Saints fumble was ruled to have no clear recovery)

"Yeah, that's one of those rules that – just like a spot, if you don't get the first down, you still lose it – but I won. This was one of those ones that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but it is what it is."

(On if there is a reason why TE O.J. Howard has been limited in the passing game)

"Yeah, it's just a matter of opportunities. He's going out for passes, it's just whether or not he's getting open."

(On if there was something that made him decide not to play ILB Devin White after making him active)

"No, he was an emergency guy. Jack [Cichy] was down and was hurt, so we only had three linebackers, so he was up as an emergency guy. He'll be ready this week."

(On T Demar Dotson's health status)

"I doubt he plays this week – we'll see. Josh Wells will go in there. I do have to commend Alex Cappa – he broke his arm in the second quarter [and] played the entire game. He'll miss a few weeks. But it's next-man-up – you can't make excuses, so we'll have a new right side of our line probably this week."

(On how he plans to manage the players' rest this week before they travel to London)

"The doctors have a really good plan. We've been over it, starting two weeks ago, on how to handle each day, and they've got different things prescribed each day as far as sleep – sleep is the main thing – when to go to bed, whatever you do. So, yeah, the sports science guys have a really good handle on it."

(On how important Sunday's game against Carolina is)

"Yeah, I talked to our guys about it. If we truly have leadership, we don't lose two in a row. That's when your leaders show up, so this is a big game."

(On what he's seen from T Josh Wells)

"He's been really solid in practice. I think Hawk (Jerald Hawkins) has got a good future too. He's more of a left-side guy, but Josh has played, he's got tape and it's solid."

(On if OL Earl Watford will replace G Alex Cappa at right guard)

"Yeah, probably Earl."

(On what CB Jamel Dean can provide for the secondary)

"A big, physical guy. Hopefully, we get him back – special teams and another physical corner. We've been missing him."

(On the experience of playing in London)

"It's a football field – it's measured the same. Just go play. We aren't going over there to sight see."

(On what he's seen from S Mike Edwards)

"Solid growth. I'd like to have seen him make that tackle on the slant and not give up a touchdown. I think Carlton [Davis'] hit might have affected how he played that play, and it shouldn't."

(On how he expects the secondary to respond after he called them soft in his postgame press conference)

"Positively, I hope. We'll see."

(On if Saints CB Marshon Lattimore's coverage was the reason why WR Mike Evans didn't have a catch)

"Yes and no. He's open two or three times when we're getting shoved out of the pocket and can't get our feet [set] to get back there to him. So, that combination of rush and coverage got him affected pretty good."
