With the NFL Combine kicking off in Indianapolis a little over a week away, mock drafts monopolize the internet as pundits try to predict what will happen in April. After finishing with an 8-9 record and second place in the NFC South behind the Carolina Panthers, the Buccaneers currently own the 15th overall selection in the first round. Most are predicting that Tampa Bay's brass will look to solidify the defense with its first pick, specifically an edge rusher to bolster the club's pass rush:

NFL.com

  • Pick: Edge Akheem Mesidor, Miami
  • Comments: "The Miami product's age -- he turns 25 in April -- will get a lot of attention leading up to the draft. But for a Bucs team that is presumably in win-now mode, Mesidor is an edge rusher who is ready to contribute from Day 1. The home-state hero is an excellent fit for Todd Bowles' defense."

CBS Sports

  • Pick: IOL Spencer Fano, Utah
  • Comments: "The Buccaneers could look to bolster their guard position, which was an issue for much of 2025. Spencer Fano was a tackle at Utah but looks best suited for the interior in the NFL."

The Draft Network

  • Pick: Edge Keldric Faulk, Auburn
  • Comments: "The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did not rush the passer effectively throughout 2025. They're also preparing for some departures across the defensive line. Todd Bowles will appreciate Keldric Faulk for his athleticism and inside-outside versatility as a rusher."

PFF

  • Pick: CB Jermod McCoy, Tennessee
  • Comments: "The Buccaneers would likely love to have either of the two Ohio State linebackers, but McCoy would be a great fallback option for a team that could lose cornerback Jamel Dean to free agency. McCoy missed all of the 2025 season but earned an 87.0 PFF overall grade in 2024."

The Athletic

  • Pick: LB CJ Allen, Georgia
  • Comments: "Whether or not Lavonte David retires, Allen would be a great fit. If David comes back for another year, he could mentor his future replacement; if not, Allen is more ready to start (and possibly wear the green-dot helmet) than most linebackers his age."
