The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that the team has hired Zac Robinson as its Offensive Coordinator.
Robinson has enjoyed a quick rise through the coaching ranks since beginning his career with the Los Angeles Rams, ascending from assistant quarterbacks coach (2019, 2021) and assistant wide receivers coach (2020) to quarterbacks coach/pass game coordinator (2022-23). He earned his first offensive coordinator opportunity with the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 where he remained for two seasons before joining Tampa Bay.
"We are excited to welcome Zac Robinson as our next offensive coordinator," said Head Coach Todd Bowles. "Zac is one of the bright offensive minds in our game, and during the interview process, I was very impressed with his plan for getting the most out of the talent we have on that side of the ball. He has a very good understanding of the strengths of our top offensive players from his time in the division the past two years and I am very confident in his ability to teach and develop our young players."
Over his two seasons as offensive coordinator in Atlanta, Robinson's unit ranked among the top 10 in a number of key offensive categories, including: yards per game (351.4 â ninth), yards per play (5.6 â 10th), rushing yards per game (128.1 â eighth), yards per rush (4.5 â ninth), passing yards per game (223.3 â ninth), pass yards per attempt (6.9 â ninth), fewest sacks per pass attempt (5.3% â third) and first downs per game (20.3 â 10th).
Robinson coached a group that finished fifth in the NFL in explosive plays (135) in 2024 and eighth (247) over the last two seasons combined. His team did so behind an offensive line unit that surrendered the fourth-fewest sacks in 2025 (26), and the fifth-fewest over the last two years (58). He coached guard Chris Lindstrom and running back Bijan Robinson each to back-to-back Pro Bowl selections from 2024-25.
In his final season with the Rams in 2023, Robinson helped construct a passing attack that earned both wide receiver Puka Nacua and quarterback Matthew Stafford trips to the Pro Bowl that season, while Nacua reset the then-NFL records for most receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,486) by a rookie in league history. In his first season as pass game coordinator in 2022, Robinson was instrumental in overcoming an adversity-filled season for the Rams that saw the team start four different quarterbacks due to injury. The season is best remembered for Robinson's preparation of current Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield for a game-winning drive against the Las Vegas Raiders after signing with the team just two days prior. He also served as the team's assistant quarterbacks coach in 2021 when the Rams went on to win Super Bowl LVI.
Prior to entering the coaching ranks, Robinson was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round (No. 240 overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft, later spending time with the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals. He played collegiately at Oklahoma State (2005-09), where he was a three-year starter, amassing 8,317 passing yards and 88 total touchdowns, including 66 through the air.
The Littleton, Colorado, native, attended Chatfield Senior High School where he competed in both football and track. He and his wife, Mia, have two children: Madi and Cooper.
