TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS QUOTE SHEET 10-7-22

HEAD COACH TODD BOWLES

(On the status of TE Cam Brate)

"He's not in play for Sunday right now but he's feeling better."

(On if Brate's status could change before the game)

"No, count him out for Sunday."

(On if DL Akiem Hicks and S Logan Ryan have also been ruled out for Sunday's game)

"Correct."

(On if there are any other players who are considered worse than questionable)

"Everybody else is questionable."

(On clarifying Brate's status)

"Cam is out. Everybody else is questionable."

(On if the Falcons being without RB Cordarrelle Patterson and TE Kyle Pitts changes the game plan)

"No, I don't think it does. I don't think it changes the system at all."

(On if the passing game with wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin is what the offense does best)

"It's important once we get healthy. Having those guys out there opens up the run game some and also helps us in the pass game, so we put up some points."

(On his comfort level with K Ryan Succop)

"We're very comfortable with him because he's reliable. He's always going to hit the field goal right on time. I don't think he's hitting a 60-yarder, but we're not asking him to. At the same time, efficiency means a lot, too. If you have a big leg but you're not accurate, it doesn't say too much. So we're very comfortable with where he's at."

(On how the Buccaneers responded after their Week 4 loss)

"I thought they responded well. We have a 24-hour rule: Win, lose or draw we're going to let it go, we're going to get ready for the next one."

(On S Keanu Neal)

"He's patiently waited his turn. He's been tough for us when he gets in there. He's a heck of a hitter but he has a good knowledge of the game. He communicates well with the guys and he fits right in."

(On if he has a feel for how much time S Logan Ryan will miss)

"Not at this time, I don't, no."

(On how the secondary responded to several players getting hurt in Week 4)

"Luckily we have guys that have played. Sean [Murphy-Bunting] has been practicing well; we're just finding time to play him. He stepped in and made a big play for us, so I though those guys stepped up."

WIDE RECEIVER MIKE EVANS

(On if the offense looked more like the team envisioned in Week 4)

"Yeah we did okay. We should have [done] better. We did better on third downs, which we wanted to do. [We] just want to take care of the football."

(On getting a lot of first downs in Week 4)

"Yep, [we] got it moving."

(On the success he's had against the Falcons in his career)

"In the past they used to be a cover three, cover one team. I like those man-coverage teams; they still play a bit of man [coverage]. I've had some success in the past against those guys."

(On his connection with QB Tom Brady on the endzone fade route)

"Practice. A lot of practice. He throws the ball really [well] and my size and my ability helps."

(On going against a top cornerback like A.J. Terrell)

"I love it. Top corners that play match – not much safety help – I love that. I love it. I hope I get a lot of that for the remainder of the season."

(On if the offense needs him and WR Chris Godwin on the field to get rolling)

"Yeah, you know he had a big injury last year and he's [getting] back into form now. I just came back from suspension and injury, so us being healthy can help our team a lot."

(On WR Julio Jones playing against his old team)

"We're at home so it's probably a little different. I don't know if he played against them last year. But in my opinion, he's the best Falcon in history. I'm happy he's on our side now, though."

(On what made Jones such a dominant player on the Falcons)

"You've seen him play. He has all the tools, he has no weaknesses in his game. No one slows him down. In the past, his injuries, other than that nobody can stop him."

(On if Jones is the prototype for this generation of receivers)

"I guess he is…he's like a Terrell Owens type of guy. He's like a Terrell Owens type of receiver – super fast, he can catch, run after catch, block, physical. His mentality is different – he's one of the best to ever do it.

(On what he's seen from Jones as a teammate)

"He's an unbelievable guy – a humble guy. I'm happy I got this moment to play with [one of] the greats.
