5 Bucs to Watch Against Eagles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the defending Super Bowl champions in Week Four on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. This will mark the only battle between two undefeated teams this week and kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. Tampa Bay is 4-1 against Philadelphia since 2021, including the postseason – the highest win percentage (.800) against the Eagles by any team with multiple games played vs. Philadelphia during that span. Baker Mayfield rallied the Bucs to their third consecutive game-winning drive against the Jets, utilizing his legs to extend drives. The Bucs will look to improve to 4-0 as Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown and Jordan Davis come to town. Following kickoff, here are five Buccaneers to keep an eye on:

Jamel Dean

In Week Three against the Jets, Jamel Dean nabbed a pick-six, returning an interception 55 yards for the score. He read the quarterback's eyes and drove on the ball from off coverage, undercutting the pass. Dean possesses elite speed and has the frame to match the physicality of Eagles' A.J. Brown. Brown will likely face both Dean and Zyon McCollum on Sunday as the WR-CB duos battle it out on the grass. Brown averaged 18.9 yards per catch last week and accumulated 109 yards and a touchdown. He plays with outstanding body control and foot quickness to generate separation. Brown varies tempo inside of his routes and sells effectively to bait defensive backs. He is instinctive in space and Dean will look to lock down one of Jalen Hurts' go-to targets in the passing game.

Ben Bredeson/Graham Barton

Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, the menacing defensive tackle duo that consists of two former first round picks, will strive to take advantage of the Bucs shuffled line. Davis has a sack on the year and plays with immense power, often forcing offenses to not try and run between the tackles. He quickly sheds single blocks and his linemate, Carter, pairs first-step quickness with violent hands. Carter anchors the point and disorients blockers with his combinations. Bucs' Head Coach Todd Bowles confirmed that it will be an end-of-the-week evaluation on whether or not All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs will suit up against the Eagles. He was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice in the ramp-up to a return. If he plays on Sunday, that will likely shift Graham Barton back to center, with Ben Bredeson possibly moving back to left guard. This week in particular with the tandem of Davis-Carter rolling into town, Tampa Bay would like to be as strong in the interior as possible.

Lavonte David

The Bucs held the Jets to 99 rushing yards last week, their 11th-straight game limiting opponents to fewer than 100 yards on the ground dating back to last season. Since Week 10 of the 2024 season – the start of Tampa Bay's streak – the team has kept opponents to 3.3 average yards per carry, the best mark in the NFL over that span. Tampa Bay held Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier to 24 rushing yards in Week One, Nick Chubb to 43 rushing yards in Week Two and Breece Hall to 21 rushing in Week Three. Saquon Barkley presents a unique challenge on Sunday. He is of the best runners in the NFL and leads the Eagles with 194 yards on the ground. Barkley has it all: patience, power and speed. He creates gaps that do not exist for most runners and if he gets to the second level, he is gone. Barkley possesses rare vision in the open field and lateral burst that can alter the course of his run whenever he wants. In addition, he is adept in the passing game as a weapon out of the flat so Tampa Bay will have to be disciplined in rush lanes and in taking effective angles. Lavonte David will play a critical role in limiting Barkley in Week Four. Against the Jets, David amassed 11 tackles (one for loss), two quarterback hits and a sack in Week Three. In doing so, David became the fourth player in NFL history to record at least 40.0 career sacks, 30 forced fumbles and 10 interceptions. With instinctive play and outstanding play recognition, David will look to set the tone in the middle of Bowles' defense.

Yaya Diaby

The Bucs consistently brought pressure against Tyrod Taylor in Week Three and the unit currently ranks second in the league in quarterback pressures in 2025 with 58. Despite being forced off his spot, Taylor managed to elude defenders and find targets on checkdowns with a quick, dink-and-dunk game. This week, the Bucs face Jalen Hurts, one of the most elusive quarterbacks in the NFL. Keeping Hurts contained in the pocket and setting a firm edge will be crucial. Hurts plays with a tough disposition and is as good of a play extender as they come, making highlight-reel plays while on the move. Bucs' Yaya Diaby recorded four tackles (two for a loss), two quarterback hits and a sack against the Jets, with a career-high 11 pressures per Next Gen Stats. He consistently collapsed the pocket and was an active presence in the backfield. This week, he will need to corral Hurts, preventing him from gaining momentum using his legs on a scramble.

Rachaad White

The Eagles currently have the 24th ranked rush defense and Rachaad White will look to exploit the unit at Raymond James Stadium. The Week Four matchup will hinge on the trenches and which team out-physicals the other. White has helped fuel the offense with dirty runs up the middle to push the pile forward, as well as key blocks to protect Baker Mayfield from incoming pressure. His play may not always show up on the stat sheet but White's unselfish demeanor on the field has rallied the offense. He provides a change of pace to Bucky Irving and is patient in letting his blocks develop. White can stack cuts and is a natural pass-catcher, providing a safety blanket for Mayfield. He runs with great balance to stay upright after contact and accelerates to top speed quickly in the open field.
