The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed 2026 draft selection, linebacker Josiah Trotter. With Trotter's signing, the Buccaneers have now signed all seven members of their 2026 draft class.
Trotter (6-2, 237) was selected by the Buccaneers in the second round (No. 46 overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at the University of Missouri (2025) and West Virginia University (2024), playing 24 career games, with 23 starts, and totaling 176 tackles (17.0 for loss), three passes defensed, 2.5 sacks and one interception. At Missouri in 2025, Trotter started all 12 games, posting a team-high 84 tackles while helping lead a defense ranked third in the SEC, and eighth nationally, in yards allowed per game. A first-team All-SEC selection by league coaches, Trotter produced 13.0 tackles for loss in 2025, earning an 89.2 Pro Football Focus run-defense grade – ranking among the top linebackers nationally. In 2024 at West Virginia, Trotter earned Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year honors after recording 92 tackles (4.0 for loss), two passes defensed and one interception, becoming the first player in program history to receive the award. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native is the son of former NFL linebacker Jeremiah Trotter and brother of Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr., and will wear No. 45 for Tampa Bay.
