Mike Evans
Mike Evans had a stellar performance for Tampa Bay in Sunday's match up against the Houston Texans. The wide receiver was targeted by Jameis Winston 17 times capturing seven of them, and tallied 101 yards in the game. He may not have scored, but his 14.43 yards per reception rating make him a tempting treat heading into Week 4 when the Bucs face the Panthers at home. Evans is also affordable at $7,500 averaging 6.8 FanDuel points per game. He's someone you don't want to skip over when it comes to finalizing your lineups.
At the moment, Evans is the only guy you can add to your lineup with that salary, but some good news is you can get wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald cheaper at $7,400. Fitzgerald along with Steve Smith Jr, went on to prove to fantasy owners and football fans alike that age is nothing but a number. But, if you want to talk numbers, Fitz was absolutely outstanding against the San Francisco 49ers. He caught nine out of a possible 11 targets for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He tallied 29.9 FDP and that was lower than the previous week against the Chicago Bears when he tallied 33.2 FDP. He is averaging 24.9 points per game and even though he's facing that tough Rams defense in Week 4, he will still give you a solid performance.
Week of the Running Back
The wide receivers didn't have all the fun in Week 3 however. As a matter of fact, it seemed as if it were the week of the running back.
Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman was a beast going up against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday. Freeman rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries tallying a ridiculous 39.8 FDP. That raised his FPPG average to 20. This week he goes up against those Texans and you know he will be seeing the ball more.
Frank Gore who is now making his home on the Indianapolis Colts finally made his presence known (in his defense, the Colts didn't exactly give him a lot to work with). The former 49er was in tune with Andrew Luck scoring two rushing touchdowns. In the weeks prior, Gore couldn't break the five point mark, so the 21.9 FanDuel points he earned definitely gave the veteran a confidence boost that will carry him into Week 4. Gore faces the Jacksonville Jaguars, and expect a similar performance. Let's just hope the Luck continues.
What's Next?
Wide receiver A.J. Green was ridiculous against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday catching 10 passes for a career-high 227 yards and two touchdowns. The numbers don't lie, but in case you had any doubts, he's facing the Kansas City Chiefs who are last in allowing FDP to the position. He's on the pricey side at $8,400, but he's averaging 20.2 FPPG and he will go off on the Chiefs. The best things in life aren't always free.
Another to watch this week coincidentally played the Chiefs in the Monday Night Football game is Aaron Rodgers. He is facing San Francisco which is bad news for the 9ers. The 2010 Super Bowl MVP completed 24-of-35 passes for 333 yards and five touchdowns to defeat Kansas City 38-28. Rodgers tallied 34.92 points in the win.
Expect him to continue greatness as he heads into Week 4. He's the most lucrative of the guys that have been mentioned worth $9,200, and he's worth every penny.
