As previously announced, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will wear their popular Creamsicle uniforms when they face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15 of the upcoming 2025 season. Now their opponents have decided to join the party.
On Tuesday, the Falcons announced the dates for the three occasions on which they will wear throwback uniforms in 2025, two of which are home games. The third is Atlanta's December 11 visit to Raymond James Stadium to face the Buccaneers in a prime-time game on Thursday night. A national audience will witness two teams celebrating landmark seasons, as 2025 is the 50th year of play for the Buccaneers and the 60th for the Falcons.
The Buccaneers will don their iconic orange jerseys that came back into the rotation in 2023 after a decade hiatus due to league helmet rules. They will be paired with white helmets featuring the team's original "Bucco Bruce" logo. The Falcons will sport uniforms based on their inaugural 1966 season, with red helmets, black jerseys and white hats. Thus, the game will feature a rare combination of both teams wearing color jerseys rather than one in color and one in white, though there is obviously still quite a visual contrast between black and Creamsicle orange.
The Buccaneers and Falcons have a long history together. They first met in 1977, Tampa Bay's second team, and later became division rivalries when the NFL realigned into eight four-team divisions in 2002 and created the NFC South. Overall, the two teams have met 63 times, with the Falcons holding a 32-31 edge; the series lead has changed hands multiple times in recent seasons. The only opponent the Buccaneers have faced more than the Falcons is the New Orleans Saints, with 66 previous meetings. Click to here to buy tickets today.
