Today, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the return of She is Football Weekend, a two-day celebration of girls and women throughout Tampa Bay, set to take place on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7. The event is presented by Jabil, a global manufacturer and one of the largest employers in the Tampa Bay region, with Ambetter, Coca-Cola Beverages of Florida, PT Solutions and The Baldwin Group serving as supporting sponsors. In its second year, the weekend will once again feature a career summit, a girls flag football tournament, 5K run, walk & stroll and a market that showcases local small businesses.
In its inaugural year, She is Football Weekend drew patrons from 27 states, featuring two days of sold-out events. The She is Football Summit, presented by Fifth Third Bank, brought together nearly 800 female leaders for a day of mentorship and connection, and over 3,000 participants took part in the She is Football 5K Run, Walk & Stroll the following morning.

Registration is now open for the She is Football 5K Run, Walk & Stroll on Saturday, March 7 at the AdventHealth Training Center. Runners of all levels are encouraged to participate, with funds raised going towards programming to keep young girls in sports. Saturday will also feature a She is Football Market as well as curated tours throughout the AdventHealth Training Center for girls to learn more about the roles available within a professional sports organization. Also returning is the She is Football Women's Summit, presented by Fifth Third Bank on Friday, March 6 at Raymond James Stadium. Bringing in female leaders from all industries to serve as mentors, the Summit is designed for women interested in a variety of career paths to connect with one another and grow personally and professionally. More information on registration and featured mentors will be released in the coming weeks.
In addition, the She is Football Invitational returns to AdventHealth Training Center, featuring eight of the top high school flag football teams in the state. Competing in this year's competition are Apopka High School, Belleview High School, Bloomingdale High School, East Bay High School, Harmony High School, Hernando High School, Lennard High School and Steinbrenner High School.
Funds raised from the weekend will be allocated toward keeping young girls in sports. 94% of women in executive positions have played youth sports. However, the dropout rate for girls in youth sports is double the rate of boys. The Buccaneers are committed to providing opportunities to keep girls in the game and develop the next generation of leaders.
