It doesn't look like Kwon Alexander will be flying under the radar for much longer. Alexander led the NFL in solo tackles a year ago, but surprisingly didn't receive a nod to the Pro Bowl. If he hasn't "broken out" yet, this could be the year.
"My breakout player for this year had a big season last year and a big season his rookie season, but I think he becomes an NFL star this year," NFL Network's Peter Schrager said. "It's Buccaneers linebacker Kwon Alexander. The NFL does their Top 100 rankings and somehow Kwon Alexander didn't even make the Top 100 last year. He was third in the entire league in tackles with 145 and also had three sacks and 12 tackles for a loss."
"I'm watching that Cowboys game on Sunday night against the Buccaneers – Kwon Alexander had 21 tackles in that game. Twenty one tackles. Video game stats. He's all over the field; he goes sideline to sideline. An absolutely incredible linebacker."
Alexander was a part of the Buccaneers' spectacular 2015 draft class, which also included Jameis Winston, Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet. They were the team's first four picks and all four have been starters since their rookie seasons.
Alexander has 238 career tackles, six sacks and three interceptions, including one for a touchdown. And he's still just 22 years old.
