Riverview High School Head Coach Alex Albert was honored as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers High School Football Coach of the Week on Wednesday, October 24 at One Buccaneer Place.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Tony Dungy congratulated Coach Albert during an award presentation Wednesday afternoon before practice at One Buccaneer Place. Albert was presented with a framed "Coach of the Week" award, a football autographed by Buccaneers Head Coach Tony Dungy, a $500 donation to his football program, and Buccaneers T-shirts for his staff and players.

Since taking over at Riverview in 1998, Coach Albert has led the Sharks to a Western Conference Championship in 2000 and to a State Playoff Wild Card entry in that same year. This season, Coach Albert's Sharks have bolted out to a 6-2 record, outscoring their opponents by over 100 points.

Prior to becoming the Head Coach at Riverview, Coach Albert spent 10 years at Leto High, where he twice led his team to the District Title game, winning one.

Albert was selected by a panel of News Channel 8 and Buccaneers representatives after being nominated on the WFLA.com website.
