5 Notes Against the Bills | Preseason Week Three

In the Buccaneers 23-19 loss to the Bills, five notes stood out for the home team

5notes

1. The Buccaneers tied to re-set the team's post-2017 preseason kick return mark three times in the clash against the Bills, as Kameron Johnson returned Buffalo's kickoff 57 yards. Josh Williams had a 42-yarder in the second quarter and earlier in the outing, Williams posted a 39-yard kickoff return.

2. Before halftime, receiver Tez Johnson had eight receptions on eight targets for 58 yards and one touchdown. He is one-of-three players in the NFL to have eight-plus receptions, 50-plus receiving yards and at least one receiving touchdown in any half of a preseason contest, dating back to 2017.

3. Quarterback Connor Bazelak connected with Garrett Greene for a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. It marked the first touchdown of the preseason for Bazelak and Greene, a former quarterback-turned receiver.

4. Kicker Chase McLaughlin converted from 50 yards out, trimming the deficit, 20-13. McLaughlin was a perfect 5-for-5 on field goal attempts in the preseason.

5. Elijah Roberts dropped Shane Buechele for an eight-yard sack, marking his first career preseason sack.
