This will be the 32nd year that the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve has joined forces with the Buccaneers for a game-day toy drive

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers close out the 2008 regular season with a pair of home games, beginning this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, and the fans at Raymond James Stadium will need to be louder than ever to help the team chase a postseason berth. With that playoff invite hanging in the balance, Tampa Bay's faithful will be instrumental in providing an advantage to the Bucs on their home turf, where they are undefeated this season.

Those attending the game on Sunday will also get a chance to show their support outside Raymond James Stadium, as well. In this season of giving, fans are asked to donate new, unwrapped toys at the annual "Toys for Tots" collection drive at every stadium gate before kickoff. From 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., the Glazer Family Foundation and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will collect donations at all gates and club entrances. Following Sunday's game between the Buccaneers and the San Diego Chargers, the Marines will distribute the donated toys to underprivileged children throughout the Tampa Bay area. This is the 32nd year the Buccaneers and the Marines Corps have united to bring smiles to the faces of children during the holiday season.

"The Buccaneers have the greatest fans in the NFL, and it is thanks to them that this organization succeeds both on and off the field," said Miray Holmes, the Buccaneers' director of community relations. "Particularly in the current economic environment, it is more important than ever for all of us to continue to make a difference by giving back to those less fortunate. There are countless children throughout the Bay area that will not receive toys during the holiday season, and it is up to the Buccaneers — and our fans — to do our part this Sunday."

Please help make the holiday wishes come true for underprivileged youth throughout Tampa Bay. Fans not attending the game can still help. Text the word "TOY" to 90999 to make a $5 donation to Toys for Tots. The $5 donation will be used to purchase toys for children in need.
