Week 3: HS Coach of the Week, Earl Garcia

Garcia picked up his 200th career win on September 11th as Hillsborough High School defeated Gaither, 17-0.

Each week, fans will have an opportunity to vote for one high school football coach in Hillsborough county as the Buccaneers' Coach of the Week. Candidates will have led their schools to an impressive victory and demonstrated a commitment to fundamentals, player safety, sportsmanship, academic development, and community engagement.

This week's votes have been tallied and the results are in. This week's Buccaneers High School Coach of the Week is Hillsborough High School's Earl Garcia.

On September 11th, Hillsborough team downed Gaither High School, 17-0, to give Garcia his 200th career victory. He is Hillsborough County's longest-tenured head coach, having been at the helm for 41 years. Senior running back Rudy Dawson ran for two touchdowns to help Hillsborough to victory.

Garcia's team will take the field for their next game on September 25th against Spoto High School at home.
