Bucs-49ers Could Be Aerial Showdown | By the Numbers, Week Six

BTN2.0

The 4-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will battle the 4-1 San Francisco 49ers in yet another battle of first-place teams on Sunday, October 12 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. San Francisco is coming off a statement road win over the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football in Week Five and now holds the top spot in the highly competitive NFC West.

Here are some additional numbers to know about the state of the Buccaneers and their sixth game of the 2025 campaign:

4

San Francisco's streak of victories in the head-to-head series with Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers and 49ers will be meeting for the fourth straight season in Week Six.

6

The number of times the Buccaneers have started the season with a 4-1 record or better through their first five games, now that they reached that mark in 2025. Tampa Bay made the playoffs in each of the other five seasons with a 4-1 or better start: 1979, 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2021.

14

Lavonte David's career interception total after his game-changing pick in the final minute of the Bucs' win at Seattle. David leads all active NFL linebackers in career interceptions.

15.9

Kameron Johnson's average gain per punt return, which ranks first in the NFL among all players with at least 10 returns.

140

The combined receiving yards for tight end Cade Otton and rookie wide receiver Tez Johnson in last Sunday's win at Seattle. Otton and Johnson had combined for 42 receiving yards through the Buccaneers' first four games, but with Mike Evans sidelined and Chris Godwin gradually working back into the offense, Baker Mayfield is finding different ways to spread the ball around.

158.3

Mayfield's passer rating, which is the maximum number possible, when throwing to rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka in Seattle in Week Five. Egbuka caught all seven of his targets for 163 yards and a touchdown.

243.4

The Buccaneers' number of net passing yards per game in 2025 after Mayfield's 379-yard outing in a Week Five win at Seattle. Tampa Bay ranks sixth in the NFL in that category; however, San Francisco holds the top spot in those rankings, with 290.6 yards per game.
