A'Shawn Robinson
The Buccaneers signed defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson on Friday, adding to their line depth. Throughout his career, Robinson has appeared in 143 career games between the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants and Carolina Panthers, making 106 starts. He has accumulated 500 total tackles (37 tackles for loss), 37 quarterback hits, 23 passes defended, 15.0 sacks, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and one interception for a touchdown. Robinson has started six-of-eight postseason appearances, accumulating 38 tackles (one for loss), 1.0 sack, one quarterback hit and one forced fumble.
Since entering the league in 2016, Robinson ranks eighth among defensive linemen for total tackles. His most notable campaign came with Carolina in 2024, where he set career highs in tackles (43), quarterback hits (8) and sacks (5.5). Robinson helped the Rams to a Super Bowl LVI victory in the 2021 season and has the power and quickness to play in both a one or two-gap scheme. Robinson is nearly impossible to move once he anchors and the veteran is looking forward to joining Vita Vea in Tampa Bay.
"When he [Vea] is eating, they are going to try to attack him and then that frees me up and then I get to eat," said Robinson. "We just feasting off each other. Then the other guys around, not just Vita Vea, that feast as well…In this game, on the defensive line especially, you have to do your job and you have to dominate your box and dominate your job, your one-on-one that you have. It frees everybody else to do the same and to have the defense that you want to have."
Jake Browning
Tampa Bay signed backup quarterback Jake Browning on Friday to bolster the room around Baker Mayfield. Browning has appeared in 17 career games, including 10 starts, amassing 2,707 passing yards and 18 passing touchdowns to go along with 164 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns over three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Since 2023, his 22 total touchdowns are the most among quarterbacks with 10-or-fewer starts. Browning plays with solid mechanics and footwork, along with pocket mobility. The newest member of the Bucs' quarterback room praised Mayfield and his admiration for 6's game.
"I have always been a fan of Baker Mayfield from afar and I do not know him well but he was always somebody who I watched most of his throws and most of his plays and it is hard to beat Tampa in terms of just living too so I am excited to be a part of it and the organization here…The offense should be catered to the starter, which is obviously Baker, and I think my skillset is similar to that so I think anytime you are in a backup situation you are kind of looking for that."
Al-Quadin Muhammad
The Buccaneers signed outside linebacker Al-Quadin Muhammad, who reunites with former teammate Alez Anzalone in Tampa Bay. Muhammad has appeared in 110 career games between the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions, making 35 starts. He has totaled 190 total tackles (36 for loss), 58 quarterback hits, 26.0 sacks, four forced fumbles, two passes defensed and one fumble recovered. In addition, Muhammad has made four postseason appearances with two starts, accruing six tackles (three for loss), two quarterback hits and 1.0 sack.
On the Lions' squad in 2025, Muhammad set career highs in quarterback hits (20), sacks (11.0) and tackles for loss (nine). He became the only player in the NFL to record double digit sacks without a start on the season. Muhammad originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick (No. 196 overall) by the New Orleans Saints in the 2017 NFL Draft and brings his explosive burst and an effective speed-to-power bullrush. Last season with Detroit, he fed off teammate Aidan Hucthinson and now, he will build chemistry with Yaya Diaby, David Walker and the Bucs' defensive line in 2026.
"Play the game within the game and ultimately that is what I learned how to do as I grow and develop throughout my career, just learning how to play the game within the game and having fun doing it and giving that knowledge to the other guys in the room," noted Muhammad. "That is what it is about…It is not about me, it is about all of us having success and having some fun and playing fast and physical."
