The Buccaneers got some good news on Wednesday as right guard Alex Cappa returned to practice, in a limited capacity, for the first time since breaking his arm in the Week Five matchup with New Orleans. Cappa suffered the injury in the second quarter but finished the game. Now, just over three weeks later, he's returning to the practice field to help shore up the right side.
Conversely, right tackle Demar Dotson was held out of practice on Wednesday. He's been battling a nagging hamstring injury. So has tight end O.J. Howard, who missed Sunday's game and continues to be held out of practice into this week. Tight end Cam Brate also missed practice on Wednesday with a rib injury. The last player sidelined was inside linebacker Jack Cichy, whom the team announced it has placed on IR following an elbow injury he suffered in Week Four against the Los Angeles Rams. Given the uncertainty at tight end, the team also promoted Jordan Leggett from the practice squad in a corresponding move to take Cichy's place on the active roster.
The Seahawks are coming off a win over the Bucs' NFC South-rival Atlanta Falcons last Sunday that saw them make almost the same trip Tampa Bay is about to make as it goes up to Seattle this week. The long trip may have taken its toll with 17 players listed on their injury report for Wednesday.
