Luke Goedeke, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' starting right tackle, missed most of the week of practice and had to pass a pregame assessment by the team's trainers but he is going to suit up on Monday night against the Houston Texans. Goedeke had sustained a foot injury in the Buccaneers' season-opening win at Atlanta but his availability prevents further shuffling of the team's offensive line.
The Buccaneers will once again be without All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs, who is recovering from July knee surgery. In his absence in Week One, the team made a series of lineup shifts, moving starting center Graham Barton to left tackle, shifting left guard Ben Bredeson to center and inserting veteran Michael Jordan at left guard. Jordan had been elevated from the practice squad for that game, and indeed the Buccaneers made the same move for Week Two on Monday afternoon.
Wide receiver Chris Godwin is also unready to return as he continues his recovery from last year's significant ankle injury. However, safety Christian Izien (oblique) and rookie cornerback Benjamin Morrison (quad) are set to make their 2025 debuts after missing Week One.
The Buccaneers and Texans submitted their list of inactives at 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday, 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff of their prime-time affair at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. After elevating Jordan, the Buccaneers had 54 available players and thus had to name six inactives to get down to the game-day limit of 48. The Texans elevated fullback Jakob Johnson from the practice squad for the game and thus also have to name six inactives.
Houston will be missing a pair of receivers, as Christian Kirk and Braxton Berrios are both out with hamstring strains. Jake Andrews started the season opener for the Texans at center but suffered an ankle injury and will not be available for Monday night's game.
