Offensive Coordinator Candidates
The Buccaneers completed virtual interviews with the Chargers' Marcus Brady and the Vikings' Grant Udinski on Saturday for the vacant offensive coordinator position on Todd Bowles' staff. Tampa Bay has begun the hunt to replace Liam Coen, who was named the Jaguars' head coach last Friday.
In 2024, Brady entered his first season as passing game coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers. Prior to the Chargers, Brady was with the Philadelphia Eagles where he served as a senior offensive consultant, helping the offense set a single-season franchise record and No. 3 rank by posting a 48.0 third-down conversion rate in 2023. Brady helped quarterback Jalen Hurts post 38 combined touchdowns in 2023 (23 passing, 15 rushing), becoming the first Eagles signal-caller to record back-to-back seasons with at least 35 combined touchdowns. Hurts set a single-season franchise record with 4,463 total yards, including a career-high 3,858 through the air. Brady entered the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, working his way up to offensive coordinator from 2021-22.
Udinski, the Vikings' assistant offensive coordinator/assistant quarterbacks coach, started as an assistant to the head coach/special projects before he was promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach in 2023. The Vikings boasted an efficient offense in 2024, which spurred the team to a 14-3 record in the regular season and a Wild Card berth in the playoffs. Minnesota scored the ninth-most points in the NFL (25.4 per game) in 2024, while ranking sixth in the NFL in passing yards (237.8) and seventh in yards per pass play (7.38). Udinski began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Baylor in 2019. A year later, he joined Matt Rhule in Carolina, where he spent two years as a coaching assistant before being hired by Kevin O'Connell in Minnesota.
Mike Evans Named to 2025 Pro Bowl Games
Mike Evans will participate in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, replacing Cowboys' wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who is unable to participate due to injury. This will mark the sixth career Pro Bowl honor for Evans (2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024), tying Evans for the third-most selections by a Buccaneer in franchise history, trailing only Pro Football Hall of Famers Derrick Brooks (11) and Warren Sapp (seven).
In 2024, Evans extended his historic streak of 1,000-yard receiving seasons to 11 – every season of his storied NFL career – finishing with 74 receptions for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns in 14 games played. He tied Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the most consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in NFL history (11) and surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss (10) for the second-most total 1,000-yard seasons in league history, trailing only Rice (14). Evans is in rare air at the position and has been the linchpin of the Buccaneers' offense since his inaugural year in 2014.
Across his 11 seasons with Tampa Bay, Evans has starred in 168 career games, making 167 starts, and has accumulated 836 receptions for 12,684 receiving yards and 105 receiving touchdowns. All-time in league history, Evans ranks ninth in receiving touchdowns, 24th in receiving yards and 35th in receptions. He is one of four players with 12,000-plus receiving yards and 100-plus touchdown receptions through 11 career seasons, along with Hall of Famers Harrison, Moss and Rice. Evans will join teammates Vita Vea and Tristan Wirfs in this year's all-star challenges. Vea and Wirfs were originally selected to the Pro Bowl on January 2 and the 2025 Pro Bowl Games are set to take place January 30 through February 2 in Orlando via ESPN.
