Klint Kubiak's System in Seattle
The Seahawks have had two or more tight ends on the field for 41.2% of their offensive plays and have had their best yards-per-play (6.8) and best success rate (49%) out of a 12 personnel grouping (1 RB, 2 WR, 2 TE). Kubiak's system utilizes tight ends at the point of attack for their perimeter-based system with outside zone sprinkled in – runs outside of the tackles – and run action to look like passing concepts. For Tampa Bay, Todd Bowles' defense will have to be disciplined when the Seahawks stretch the field horizontally.
"He is very smart and very organized and one of the few coaches that can use every personnel grouping and do the same thing," said Bowles. "He can put you out on an island and put you in a bind. [He is a] very sharp mind and understands how to call a game. There are a lot of guys that can call a game but he understands how to call a game and he knows how to use his pieces. He is a very bright coach."
Jacob Parrish Blanketing Receivers
Rookie Jacob Parrish has been a standout for the Buccaneers on defense throughout the first four weeks of the 2025 slate. Parrish has played 169 defensive snaps (67%) for a Bucs defense that ranks fourth in total defense, fifth in rush defense and 11th in pass defense, recording 14 tackles (three for loss), two quarterback hits, two passes defensed and a sack. Among rookies, Parrish is tied for first in sacks (1.0), second in tackles for loss (three), tied for third in quarterback hits (two) and is tied for seventh in passes defensed (two).
Per NextGen Stats, Parrish has yielded just 4.1 yards per target, which ranks sixth across the NFL and first among rookies (min. 15 targets). Among players with 15-plus targets, Parrish's 66 receiving yards allowed rank fifth-fewest in the NFL and fewest among rookies, per NextGen Stats. Parrish also ranks third among rookies in lowest passer rating when targeted (min. 15 targets) at 81.8. Parrish is the fourth highest-graded cornerback in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus, earning an 85.6 overall grade – the highest defensive grade among all rookie defenders (min. 50 defensive snaps). When lined up against Drake London in Week 1 and A.J. Brown in Week 4, Parrish limited each to 1 reception for -2 yards, per PFF. With Jamel Dean and Benjamin Morrison undergoing MRIs and not participating in practice on Wednesday, Parrish could have an increased role on the outside against the Seahawks. The first-year player's short-area burst, physicality and ability to jam releases will make an impact against Seattle.
"Just taking my preparation to another level and watching film," said Parrish on the potential of playing on the outside in Week Five. "You never know what could happen, I could play corner, I could play nickel, so when my time comes to be out there, I am ready."
